Ben Quilter September Blog

September has now come to an end and this month has been another hard one with two international training camps, one in Dartford and one in Kendal where I am at the moment. Training is still geared towards preparing for the European Championships in November and it is all going well so far. Also this month I picked up the Paralympic player of the year award at the British Judo Annual awards evening for the second year running.
Earlier this month I had the opportunity to take a few days out of training to be an athlete mentor at the UK School games, this was an amazing event and the level of competition was very high. I enjoyed watching some of the up and coming young judo stars of the future and hopefully passed on some useful guidance where I could.
Some of you may have seen me on channel 4's that Paralympic show earlier in the month, if you missed it then you can watch it on 4 OD. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/that-paralympic-show/4od#3237225

Coming up
I have not got any competitions coming up in October, However,  I  will be continuing my preparations for the European Championships with two hard training camps and my normal 24 hour week training  schedule for the remaining 2 weeks. October also sees me turn 30 years old so I will be coping with getting older.
I will be continuing with my video diaries that can be seen on the channel 4 website see the channel 4 link on my website at www.benquilter.co.uk also I am getting more and more into tweeting follow me at benquilterjudo!
